50 Cent sends his condolences to Kanye West

November 22, 2007

50 spoke to the Associated Press yesterday and had this to say about his record sales rival Kanye West.

“That’s really an unfortunate situation and I hope he can work his way through it,” 50 Cent said Tuesday (Nov. 20). “It’s good to see him actually touring: You can work your way back into a comfortable space where you can deal with those situations.”

“I was telling him, ‘You need to go back and do what you need to do,’ and he thought maybe I was a little insensitive,” 50 Cent revealed. “But I can definitely understand how that’s a huge loss, and how that would be, and then (Kanye’s) relationship with his mom had a lot more depth to it than a lot of people’s. He was real close to his mom.”

“He’s a talented artist. I actually sat with him during the creation of Curtis while he was creating his new album,” the rapper told the AP. “I never viewed him as an actual enemy; what I was trying to do is build a competition.”

Kanye Returns to the Stage

November 19, 2007

At about 60 minutes into his set in Paris on Saturday night he attempted to dedicate “Hey Mama” to his mother and could not go on. This quote is via HHNlive.com

“He said the word, ‘Mother’ and just couldn’t go any further,” Le Parisien journalist Meddy Magloire told PEOPLE. “A back-up singer, the DJ and a guitar player came over to console him. It looked like he might collapse. He just couldn’t continue. He just stood there in a spotlight, crying while the band continued playing.”

After leaving the stage for 15 minutes, Kanye returned for an enthusiastic version of “Stronger.”

“He was very nervous, seemed to have gathered himself up, and had a lot of energy,” Magloire says. “He kept shouting out to the audience, ‘I need you… I need you right now.’ and the public was screaming back. It was magic.”
